What USA proxies are and when you need them
A USA proxy makes your scraper look like a person browsing from inside the United States. US sites use your IP to decide which prices, product ranges, shipping options and search results to show. Requests from outside the US often get a redirect to an international store, a reduced catalogue, or a block.
You need a US IP proxy when the data only exists for American visitors: Amazon.com and Walmart.com prices, Google.com rankings for US searchers, US-only listings on Zillow and Redfin, or ads served to US audiences. Residential IPs matter because large US retailers block datacenter IP ranges quickly.
State and city-level data: use ZIP codes, not IPs
The US proxy targets at country level. Every request exits through a US residential IP, but you can't pin it to a specific state or city.
For most US retail data, the IP isn't what sets the region anyway. Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Target.com and Best Buy decide delivery dates, local stock, store pickup and sometimes price from the ZIP code or store you select, not from your IP. Set the ZIP in the site's location field or cookie, and a US IP from anywhere in the country returns that region's result.
| Region | City | Example ZIP |
|---|---|---|
| Northeast | New York, NY (Midtown) | 10001 |
| West | Los Angeles, CA (Downtown) | 90012 |
| Midwest | Chicago, IL (Loop) | 60601 |
| South | Houston, TX (Downtown) | 77002 |
| South | Miami, FL (Brickell) | 33131 |
| West | Seattle, WA (Downtown) | 98101 |
| South | Dallas, TX (Downtown) | 75201 |
| West | San Francisco, CA (SoMa) | 94103 |
Use a fixed set of reference ZIPs, one per region you track, and record the ZIP alongside every price you collect. That is how you compare what a shopper in Texas sees with one in California. Pair each ZIP with a static session, so the site sees one consistent visitor while the location is set.
For city-level Google.com results, pass the location in the search request (Google's uule parameter) rather than relying on the IP.
Residential, ISP and datacenter US proxies: which to pick
MrScraper offers residential proxies only, because that is the type that holds up on major US retail and search sites.
| Type | How US sites treat it | Offered by MrScraper |
|---|---|---|
| Residential | Looks like a household on Comcast, Spectrum, Verizon or AT&T. Hardest to block. | Yes |
| ISP | Static IPs registered to an ISP but hosted in a data centre. Often flagged by stronger bot protection. | No |
| Datacenter | IP ranges owned by hosting companies. Blocked quickly by Amazon, Walmart and most large US retailers. | No |
A US residential proxy is the right default for retail, search and listings. If you were looking for a USA private proxy (one dedicated IP held for a session), a static session gives you the same behaviour: one US residential IP for up to 60 minutes. If you would rather not manage blocks, CAPTCHAs and retries at all, Web Unblocker handles them for you.

What people use US proxies for
Retail price and inventory monitoring
Track prices, Buy Box sellers, promotions and stock on Amazon.com and Walmart.com. Extend the same setup to Target and Best Buy for in-store availability and pickup options by ZIP code. US retail prices and delivery promises vary by region more than in most markets, so ZIP-based collection gives you the real picture. [Link to Amazon or Walmart use-case pages if they exist]
Google.com SERP and rank tracking
Google.com results from a US IP differ from what international users see. Track organic rankings, Shopping results, featured snippets and ads with gl=us&hl=en on a US IP. Add a location parameter for city-level local packs.
Real-estate and classifieds listings
Zillow and Redfin are the main US property portals for listings, price history and rental data. Both are used for rent indices, valuation models and inventory tracking, and both block datacenter traffic. Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace are common classifieds targets.
Ad verification in the US
Check that ads appear on the right sites, in the right placements and without fraud or brand-safety issues. Ad networks serve different creative to US traffic than to international users. A US residential IP shows the real ad an American visitor gets.
Market and competitor research
Monitor competitor catalogues, pricing pages, reviews and launches as a US customer sees them. US residential IPs keep long crawls of competitor sites from being cut off by rate limits and bot checks.
How to set up a US proxy
Every request goes to one US proxy server endpoint, proxy.mrscraper.com, with the country set in your username. Use port 10000 for HTTP (http://) or port 10001 for SOCKS5 (socks5://). No SDK is required; any HTTP or SOCKS5 client works. The MrScraper dashboard also generates ready-made integration code for Puppeteer, Playwright, CloakBrowser and Selenium.

Rotating vs sticky US sessions
| Rotating | Static (sticky) | |
|---|---|---|
| IP behaviour | New US IP on every request | Same US IP for up to 60 minutes |
| Best for | Price monitoring, SERP tracking, large catalogue crawls | ZIP-based location flows, carts, logged-in sessions, pagination |
| How to use | USERNAME-country-us |
USERNAME-country-us-sessid-{id}-sesstime-{minutes} |
-sessid- names the session, so requests with the same ID share one IP. -sesstime- sets how long the IP is held, up to 60 minutes; without it, a session lasts 10 minutes. When the session expires, the next request gets a new US IP. More detail: Sticky vs rotating residential proxies.

How our US IPs are sourced: compliance and consent
Every request routes through a real consumer connection in the United States, sourced with consent. The network runs under audited security controls:
- ISO 27001:2022 certifies MrScraper's information security management system, audited by an independent body.
- SOC 2 Type II tests that MrScraper's controls for security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy operate effectively over time. Both are listed in the MrScraper Trust Center.

Frequently asked questions
What is a USA proxy?
A USA proxy routes your internet request through an IP address located in the United States. US websites such as Amazon.com and Google.com then treat the request as domestic American traffic. The USA proxy shows you the prices, stock and search results a US visitor sees. MrScraper's US pool contains 10,353,360 residential IPs, priced at $1.50 per GB.
How many US residential IPs does MrScraper have?
MrScraper's US proxy pool contains 10,353,360 residential IPs. Every request draws from the full US pool, because targeting is set at country level. Rotating sessions assign a new US IP on every request. Static sessions hold one US IP for up to 60 minutes. The free trial includes 1 GB to test coverage.
Can I target a specific US state or city?
No, the USA proxy targets at country level, not by state or city. For regional retail data, set a ZIP code on the site instead. Amazon.com, Walmart.com and Target use the ZIP to show delivery dates and local stock. Use 77002 for Houston or 90012 for Los Angeles. A static session keeps one US IP while the ZIP is set.
Are these real residential IPs or datacenter IPs?
MrScraper's US proxy IPs are real residential IPs on consumer internet connections in the United States, sourced with consent. They are not datacenter IPs relabelled as residential. MrScraper offers residential proxies only. The network runs under ISO 27001 certification and SOC 2 Type II controls. Checking an IP on a lookup service like ipinfo.io shows a consumer ISP.
How much do US proxies cost?
MrScraper US proxies cost $1.50 per GB of bandwidth. You pay only for the data you use. Rotating and static sessions, HTTP and SOCKS5, and unlimited concurrency are included at no extra cost. A free trial includes 1 GB with no card needed. For large monthly volumes, the MrScraper sales team can prepare a quote.
Can I use a US proxy to scrape Amazon?
Yes, a US residential IP is the most reliable way to collect public data from Amazon.com. Amazon shows prices, delivery dates and Buy Box sellers based on the visitor's country and ZIP code. Datacenter IPs are blocked far more often. Use rotating sessions for product pages. Use static sessions when you set a ZIP code first.
What is the difference between US residential and US ISP proxies?
A US residential IP is an address that an internet provider such as Comcast or Verizon assigned to a real household. A US ISP proxy uses an ISP-registered address hosted in a data centre, usually static. Residential IPs are harder for Amazon and Walmart to detect. MrScraper offers residential only, with static sessions up to 60 minutes.
Do I need a US proxy to see US search results?
Yes, you need a US IP to see accurate Google.com results for American searchers. Google adjusts rankings, ads and Shopping results by the searcher's location, not only by the domain. A search from a UK IP returns different results than one from the US. Add `gl=us` to the query and a location parameter for city-level results.
How do I authenticate with a US proxy?
MrScraper authenticates a US proxy with a username and password. Add the country to the username, for example `USERNAME-country-us`, and connect to `proxy.mrscraper.com` on port 10000 for HTTP or 10001 for SOCKS5. Add `-sessid-` and `-sesstime-` for static sessions. IP authorization is also available for allowlisted servers.
Are USA proxies legal to use?
Yes, using a USA proxy is legal in the United States. What matters is what you collect and how. Scraping public prices, listings and search results is common practice. Collecting personal information can bring obligations under laws such as California's CCPA. MrScraper's acceptable use policy prohibits collecting sensitive personal data. This is not legal advice.
